PESHAWAR: As cross-border tensions persist, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP have voiced their unwavering support for the Pakistan Army, warning that any external aggression, particularly from neighboring Afghanistan, will be met with a formidable response.
In a powerful display of nationalist sentiment, local citizens have stepped forward to remind the interim Afghan government of Pakistan’s decades of hospitality while drawing a clear red line on territorial sovereignty.
“We will give a befitting reply to Afghan aggression,” stated local residents in a gathering, reflecting the prevailing mood in the province. The sentiment was rooted in a historical perspective, as citizens recalled Pakistan’s role during the Soviet-Afghan War. “When Russia attacked Afghanistan, Pakistan supported the Afghan people and took care of them,” a citizen remarked, highlighting the decades of sanctuary provided to millions of Afghan refugees who were sheltered not only in the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in Punjab and Sindh.
Despite this history of brotherhood, the message to Kabul was unambiguous regarding the sanctity of Pakistan’s borders. “Pakistan was built on the basis of the word, it is impossible to defeat it,” the people asserted, expressing confidence in the nation’s ideological and physical resilience.
The citizens expressed complete confidence in the state’s military capabilities. “The Pakistan Army is fully capable of responding to every external aggression,” they stated, emphasizing that there would be “no compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty.”
Striking a note of cultural diplomacy, the people of KP addressed their counterparts across the border directly. “Afghans are our Pashtun brothers,” they acknowledged, but urged them to “take care of the traditions of the Pashtuns”—a cultural code that emphasizes honor, loyalty, and protection of land.
The unified message concluded with a stern commitment to national defense. “The enemy will be given a befitting reply on every front,” the people vowed, signaling that the population of the frontier province remains a bulwark alongside the armed forces in defending the motherland against any hostile action.
