KP Government Bars Officials from Facilitating PTI March Following IHC Order

PESHAWAR: KP Government Bars Officials from Facilitating PTI March as the provincial government has directed government officials not to facilitate or provide official resources for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) march towards Islamabad.

The directive follows an order issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) concerning the participation of government officials and the use of state resources in connection with political activities in the federal capital.

The Chief Secretary KP has instructed all relevant officials to ensure strict compliance with the court’s directives. Officials have also been directed to immediately inform the Chief Secretary or the Inspector General of Police if they are asked to participate in or facilitate the march towards Islamabad.

According to an office memorandum issued by the Chief Secretary, no government official will be allowed to assist, facilitate or provide support for any march, rally or procession heading towards the federal capital.

KP Government Bars Officials from Facilitating PTI March

The memorandum states that government officials must comply with the court’s directives and must not provide assistance or facilitation for the PTI march towards Islamabad. Any official found violating the instructions may face departmental disciplinary action.

Restrictions on Movement and Public Services

The KP government has also directed that no march or rally should be permitted if it is likely to disrupt freedom of movement in Islamabad or affect commercial and business activities.

The instructions further state that access to educational institutions and medical facilities should not be affected by such political activities.

Ban on Government Resources

The memorandum specifically prohibits the use of government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds or any other official resources for the march or rally.

The Chief Secretary has directed the concerned departments and officials to ensure full compliance with the IHC order.

The directives were issued following the Islamabad High Court’s orders concerning government officials and the use of state resources in connection with political activities in Islamabad.
