BANNU: Unknown assailants blew up an under-construction Rescue 1122 building with explosives in the jurisdiction of Miryan Police Station late Saturday night, police said.
According to initial reports, the powerful blast caused severe damage to the structure. Police and bomb disposal teams immediately reached the site and cordoned off the area.
Officials said the explosives had been planted by unidentified individuals to destroy the building. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Authorities have launched a search operation to trace those involved in the attack, while forensic teams are collecting evidence from the site.
Police said efforts are underway to ensure the security of public installations across Bannu.
Earlier today, the Pakistan military media wing, ISPR, said in a statement that security forces foiled two major infiltration attempts by Indian-sponsored militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing 25 terrorists, including four suicide bombers, during intense operations in Kurram and North Waziristan districts on October 24–25.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops detected movements of two large groups of khwarij—members of the Indian proxy network Fitna al Khwarij—attempting to cross into Pakistan near the Ghaki area of Kurram District and Spinwam in North Waziristan.
Security forces engaged the infiltrators with precision fire, killing 15 militants in Spinwam, including four suicide bombers, and another 10 in Ghaki. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the dead insurgents.
