Khamenei relatives killed in US-Israel strikes, Tehran official says

TEHRAN : In a significant development amid ongoing military strikes on Iran, the son-in-law and daughter-in-law of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, have been killed, according to a report by Reuters citing Iran’s Young Journalists Club.

 

A member of the Tehran City Council confirmed the deaths on Saturday, stating that the relatives of the Supreme Leader fell victim to the recent US-Israel strikes on the Iranian capital . The report, which has circulated widely on Telegram and social media platforms, has not been independently verified by international news agencies, and there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities .

 

The identities of which specific son-in-law and daughter-in-law were killed have not been formally disclosed. Ayatollah Khamenei has three sons and two daughters, all of whom are married into prominent clerical and political families within Iran .

 

The reported deaths come amid a significant escalation in the region. The US and Israel launched a coordinated military operation, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as “Operation Lion’s Roar,” aimed at countering what they termed an “existential threat” from Tehran . US President Donald Trump confirmed “major combat operations in Iran,” stating the objective.
