Is Fakhar Zaman Preparing for a Future in Coaching?

LAHORE: A Level-2 coaching course is currently being held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore under the auspices of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with several current and former cricketers participating.

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman is among the active players enrolled in the programme, alongside Asif Afridi, Usman Shinwari and Hussain Talat.

Speaking on the occasion, Fakhar Zaman said that pursuing a coaching qualification while continuing his playing career was a valuable experience. He noted that coaching education enables players to better mentor and guide younger cricketers, ultimately contributing to their growth and development.

Hussain Talat also highlighted the importance of the course, saying it would benefit participants both personally and professionally by enhancing their understanding of the game and broadening their skill set.

It is pertinent to mention here that Fakhar Zaman was not selected in the squad for the ongoing three matches ODI home series against Australia.

According to a statement issued by the PCB, Fakhar Zaman was unavailable for selection as they continue rehabilitation under the supervision of the board’s medical staff.
