TEHRAN: Iranian President Thanks Russia for Support Amid War with US

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed gratitude to the Russian government and people for their strong support during the ongoing war with the United States.

According to international news agencies, President Pezeshkian said in a statement released on social media that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s messages and the support of the Russian people are encouraging for the Iranian nation. He added that this encouragement will lay the foundation for new relations between countries in the region in the future.

The Iranian president thanked Russia for its backing and said the cooperation is not only important in the current situation but will also be helpful for regional security in the future. He further stated that countries in the region should ensure their own security and reject external pressure.

It may be noted that some world leaders, including the French president, had previously expressed concerns that Russia was possibly assisting Iran in its war with the United States and Israel. Neither Iran nor Russia has officially confirmed or denied such assistance.
