PANJGUR : Despite its strategic location right on the Iran-Pakistan border, Panjgur is facing a severe fuel crisis, with the price of Iranian petrol skyrocketing to PKR 400 per liter.
Interestingly, the cost of petrol remains significantly cheaper in other Balochistan districts further away from the border, such as Quetta, Mastung, Soorab, and Khuzdar.
The acute pricing pressure in Panjgur is largely driven by the absolute absence of domestic Pakistani petroleum pumps in the district, leaving the local population entirely dependent on smuggled or imported Iranian petrol for their daily commuting and commercial needs.
