QUETTA: Iranian Consul General Mohammad Karim Toodeshki met with Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail, Governor of Balochistan in Quetta to discuss Pakistan-Iran relations, cross-border trade, and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Governor Mandokhail said trade is central to Pakistan-Iran relations. He highlighted that Balochistan’s land routes could be a game-changer for bilateral commerce. He noted a unique opportunity exists to increase trade volume between the two countries from $3 billion to $10 billion.
Mandokhail emphasized the need to use the shared border effectively for economic growth and mutual benefit. He said improving infrastructure is essential to promote cross-border trade and border markets. He added that boosting economic activity could significantly reduce poverty and unemployment.

The Iranian Consul General presented his diplomatic credentials to the governor and expressed a strong commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
