TEHRAN: Iran has claimed that it carried out drone strikes targeting two United States military bases in Kuwait in what it described as a response to recent American attacks on Iranian military installations.
The operation involved the use of kamikaze (suicide) drones against US military facilities located in Kuwait. Iranian authorities said the strikes were launched in retaliation for recent US military actions targeting several Iranian defense sites.
The statement alleged that one of the primary targets was a US military ammunition depot at Camp Udairi. Iran also claimed that drones struck radar systems associated with the Patriot air defense system, as well as aerial surveillance radar installations at Ali Al Salem Air Base.
In this regard, Iranian officials described the operation as a direct response to what they called American aggression against Iranian military infrastructure.
However, the statement did not provide any details regarding the extent of the damage caused by the alleged strikes or whether there were any casualties.
The reported claims come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States following a series of military confrontations in the region.
They caution that further escalation could increase security risks across the Middle East and potentially affect military operations and diplomatic efforts in the region.
The situation remains fluid, and international observers are closely monitoring developments as official responses from Washington and Kuwait are awaited. Until independent verification is available, Iran’s statements remain unconfirmed.
