QUETTA: Severe heat is expected today across Sindh and the southern districts of Balochistan.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms and rain in isolated parts of Punjab later this afternoon. Similar partly cloudy conditions are expected in Kashmir, the Pothohar region, and northeastern Balochistan.
Temperature Highlights
The PMD reported extreme temperatures from yesterday, with Sibbi and Turbat topping the list at a scorching 49°C.
Maximum temperatures recorded across other major cities included:
- Shaheed Benazirabad & Nok Kundi: 47°C
- Sukkur: 43°C
- Hyderabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, & Dera Ismail Khan: 41°C
- Multan: 39°C
- Peshawar & Muzaffarabad: 38°C
- Karachi: 37°C
- Quetta: 36°C
- Gilgit: 35°C
- Islamabad: 33°C
- Lahore: 30°C
