NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Pakistani security forces have foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during an ongoing operation against militant groups, security sources said on Wednesday.
The operation, codenamed “Ghazab-ul-Haq,” targeted militants in the border area of Mawaz Khel in North Waziristan.
Sources said fighters linked to the Afghan Taliban and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were planning to infiltrate Pakistani territory. Forces acted on timely intelligence and disrupted the plan.
Several militants were killed in the operation. Others fled their positions under pressure from advancing troops.
Security forces also targeted militant compounds and hideouts. The strikes destroyed multiple key facilities used by the groups.
Sources said operations under “Ghazab-ul-Haq” remain ongoing. Forces will continue until the area is fully cleared of militant elements.
Security officials reaffirmed their commitment to defend the country’s borders. They said any attempt at infiltration or militant activity would be thwarted.
