DUBAI: An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashed during the final afternoon demonstration at the Dubai Airshow. Emergency crews launched rescue operations immediately. Organisers halted the show and directed visitors back to the exhibition area.
The HAL Tejas, a combat aircraft used by the Indian Air Force, went down around 2:10 p.m. while performing a display. Officials said it was unclear whether the pilot ejected or if the crash caused any injuries.
Thick black smoke rose over Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central as spectators watched. Sirens echoed across the venue moments after the jet hit the ground.
The biennial Dubai Airshow was underway at the city’s second airport. The event has seen major aircraft orders from Emirates and FlyDubai.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Airforce is also participating in the Dubai Airshow.
Yesterdaty, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the JF 17 Thunder Block-3 has become a global hit during the Air Show in Dubai.
According to the ISPR, many friend-countries have revealed their interest to buy the JF 17 Thunder Block-3 after its massive success.
The ISPR has also confirmed that MOUs have been signed in order to carry out some valuable deals.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, held a series of high-level engagements with Air Chiefs from friendly countries on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025.
During the visit, Chief of the Air Staff also held comprehensive discussions with Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander UAE Air Force & Air Defense.
