India’s double game: Condemnation and covert support for terrorism against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security officials have squarely blamed arch-rival India for a devastating suicide attack on an Islamabad mosque that killed 31 worshippers, accusing New Delhi of orchestrating terrorism while maintaining a façade of diplomatic condemnation.

The bombing, which also left dozens injured, has intensified longstanding allegations from Islamabad. Senior security sources state they possess evidence that India’s intelligence agency, the Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), is actively financing and orchestrating attacks through proxy militant groups. This includes covert support for the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan and backing for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions.

The charges of a “double game” crystallized shortly after the attack when India issued a formal condemnation. In its statement, New Delhi said, “The bombing at an Islamabad mosque earlier today is condemnable and India condoles the loss of life it has caused.” It then added, “It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan should choose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills. India rejects any and every such allegation, which is as baseless as it is pointless.”

To Pakistani authorities, this swift denial is a strategic smokescreen. They argue the language exposes a pattern: conducting covert operations to destabilize Pakistan while publicly dismissing Islamabad’s accusations as deflection. This incident, they assert, is not an isolated event but part of a sustained campaign where India allegedly wages a proxy war under the guise of diplomatic propriety, leaving Pakistan to grapple with both the violence and the geopolitical blame game.
