RAWALPINDI: Sister of the incarcerated founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, was injured after falling into an under-construction sewer line at Dahgal checkpoint, witnesses said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred as Noreen Niazi attempted to cross a partially built drain near the site. She was reportedly heading toward a building in the area to offer prayers.
Witnesses said Niazi lost her footing while trying to cross the trench and fell inside. People at the scene pulled her out and shifted her to a safer location.

She sustained injuries to her hands, feet and nose, according to initial reports. Another woman accompanying her also fell and was injured in the incident.

Efforts were underway to assist the injured and assess the situation, local sources said.
