ISLAMABAD: The former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently incarcerated at Central Jail Adiala, was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Tuesday for a scheduled medical examination and follow-up treatment.
In this sense, as per the PIMS, Khan was brought to the hospital for a follow-up check-up and to receive the second dose of an anti-VEGF injection for his eye condition.
The procedure was conducted under strict medical supervision and in accordance with established healthcare protocols.
The comprehensive medical evaluation was carried out by a board of specialist doctors. The assessment included detailed cardiac examinations such as an electrocardiogram (ECG) and echocardiography (ECHO).
“The patient was found to be medically stable,” a spokesperson for the hospital administration said, adding that all standard precautionary measures were taken throughout the process.
The treatment was completed as a day-care procedure without any reported complications.
The hospital administration focused on that the medical care provided was routine and part of a scheduled treatment plan.
No additional details regarding future medical visits were shared. However, hospital sources indicated that follow-up care would continue as advised by the medical team.
Security arrangements during the transfer and hospital stay were managed by relevant authorities to ensure order and safety.
