LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominations for the Player of the Month award for October.
Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali has been nominated for his outstanding performance during the last month home three-matche test series against South Africa.
The shortlist also includes South Africa’s Senuran Muthusamy and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, both recognized for their consistent displays in international cricket.
Nauman earned his nomination after a stellar showing in the Test series against South Africa, where he claimed 14 wickets at an impressive average of 23.07 in the two-Test series against South Africa.
The spinner had achieved his third 10-wicket haul in Test cricket in the Lahore Test, where he registering figures of 6/112 in the first innings and 4/79 in the second. His outstanding spell hepled the home side to win the first Test by 93 runs.
The ICC Player of the Month award celebrates exceptional individual performances across all formats of international cricket.
A day earlier, the ICC had released its white-ball player rankings, in which several Pakistani players, including Babar Azam, made gains.
According to the ICC latest rankings, Pakistan have enjoyed a strong run in 2025, winning four of their five bilateral T20I series, including a 2-1 home triumph against South Africa. Their consistent performances have been rewarded with notable improvements in the global standings.
Babar Azam, who returned to the T20 side for home series against Proteas, climbed nine places to joint 30th in the T20 batting rankings, while Saim Ayub rose 10 spots to 39th and Salman Ali Agha jumped 10 places to 54th. India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the T20 batting charts.
