GWADAR: In a pioneering move to foster female entrepreneurship and provide a safe commercial space, a special women-only Meena Bazaar was organized in Gwadar, marking the first event of its kind in the region.
The bazaar, which strictly allowed only women to set up stalls and shop, witnessed an extraordinary rush on its opening day, with all available stalls completely booked. According to the district administration, more than 30 stalls were established, featuring a diverse range of products.
The event was organized by the Gwadar District Administration on the special instructions of the Deputy Commissioner. Officials stated that the primary objective was to provide a secure and empowered environment for women, enabling them to engage in business activities without hindrance and to promote social and business connections among them.
A notable highlight of the bazaar was the participation of numerous women entrepreneurs who, for the first time, introduced their online brands to a physical market. The initiative provided them with a crucial platform to connect directly with customers, gain valuable market experience, and learn from fellow businesswomen.
The administration termed the overwhelming response as a great success, hoping that such events would encourage more women to participate in economic activities and contribute to the local economy. The aim of the event was not only to promote women’s businesses but also to provide them with opportunities to network and share knowledge in a supportive atmosphere.
