Gwadar East Bay Expressway Phase II approved

Gwadar: On the occasion of Independence Day, the approval of Phase Two of the Gwadar East Bay Expressway has given fresh momentum to Balochistan’s development.

The project, part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and costing Rs. 200 million, will link Gwadar Port to the new international airport.

Designed to enhance connectivity and bring local communities closer, the project will improve logistics, reduce travel time, and boost both trade and tourism activities.

By transforming Gwadar into a vibrant hub, the initiative will position Balochistan as a gateway to a prosperous and well-connected future for Pakistan.

The construction of highways in Balochistan plays a pivotal role in improving connectivity, promoting trade, and uplifting local communities.

Given the province’s vast and rugged terrain, modern road networks are essential for linking remote areas with major cities and economic hubs.

Projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), such as the Makran Coastal Highway, Gwadar East Bay Expressway, and various national highway upgrades, have significantly enhanced accessibility to Gwadar Port and other strategic locations.

These highways not only reduce travel time and transportation costs but also foster socio-economic development by facilitating the movement of goods, services, and people.

Improved infrastructure attracts investment, strengthens tourism potential, and integrates Balochistan more closely with national and regional markets.
