RAWALPINDI: A formal ceremony was held at GHQ where Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-e-Jur’at, serving as the Chief of Army Staff and the newly appointed Chief of Defence Forces, was presented with a Guard of Honour by contingents of all three armed forces.
The ceremony was arranged to honour Field Marshal Asim Munir’s appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces. Senior military leadership, including the Chief of Naval Staff and the Chief of Air Staff, also attended the event.
During the ceremony, the honour guard offered a general salute to the distinguished guest. Field Marshal Asim Munir also inspected the guard of honour as part of the proceedings.
