Grand Alliance unveils phased protest plan in Khuzdar over unfulfilled demands

Balochistan Grand Alliance Announces Escalating Protests in Khuzdar for Unmet Demands

KHUZDAR:  The Balochistan Grand Alliance has declared a phased protest movement in Khuzdar district, culminating in a complete lockdown, citing the government’s failure to implement a previously agreed Charter of Demands.

Addressing a crowded press conference at the Khuzdar Press Club on Thursday, district leadership of the Alliance outlined their plan. Chairman Muhammad Aslam Notani, General Secretary Abdul Rashid Ghulamani, and other leaders stated that the protests will persist until their demands are met.

The central issue is the Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA), which they demand be provided to Balochistan government employees on par with federal employees. They also insist on the acceptance of all remaining points in their Charter of Demands.

“The Alliance protested democratically from the start, but the government first jailed the leadership and then deceived us with negotiations,” the leaders stated, expressing frustration over the lack of progress.

The protest schedule is as follows:

  • December 15-16: Black flags will be hoisted on government offices, banners displayed, and employees will wear black armbands.

  • December 17: Protest rallies will be held across the district.

  • December 29: A complete strike will be observed in Khuzdar.

  • December 30-31: A total lockdown will be imposed, mirroring actions in other Balochistan districts.

The leaders issued a final ultimatum, warning that if their legitimate demands are not accepted, the protest movement will continue unabated. The press conference concluded with protest slogans from a large gathering of Alliance officials and workers.

Meanwhile the district administration of Naseerabad has intensified efforts to ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad, Captain (Retired) Zulfiqar Ali Karrar, carried out a surprise visit to key educational institutions in Dera Murad Jamali to review academic standards and available facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Government Boys Model High School and the Government Girls Secondary High School, where he closely observed the teaching process, classroom environment, and overall educational arrangements.
