Gold Trends in Pakistan
Gold prices in Pakistan have experienced significant volatility throughout the year, driven closely by fluctuations in international bullion markets and shifting macroeconomic indicators.
Tracking well above historical averages, the local market benchmark for 24-karat gold has oscillated substantially, frequently testing new highs before undergoing intermittent corrections.
Because Pakistan imports its gold requirements, domestic rates remain heavily sensitive to two main factors: global spot gold prices denominated in US dollars and the rupee-dollar parity.
While global markets have contended with shifting central bank policies, geopolitical tensions, and varying investor sentiments, local retail demand has adjusted cautiously.
Jewelers and investors in local Sarafa markets continue to monitor international trends closely, as even minor shifts abroad trigger immediate thousand-rupee adjustments per tola within the country.
