Rawalpindi girl gang-raped twice in passenger van

RAWALPINDI: Police in Rawalpindi have registered an FIR at Rohat Police Station based on a complaint by the mother of a young married woman who was allegedly gang-raped in a passenger van.

According to the FIR, the incident took place before Ramadan.

The victim’s mother stated that her daughter was going from Chakbeli Morr to Rawat Bazaar to collect clothes for her child.

The driver and conductor of the passenger van picked her up and diverted the vehicle towards Chakbeli Khan. A third suspect named Sultan was also picked up along the way.

When the girl raised an alarm, the fourth accused, Aqeel, allegedly silenced her by placing a cloth over her mouth.

The suspects then drove the van around the roads of Baga Sheikhan, where they gang-raped her twice.

They also made videos and pictures of the assault. The girl was dropped off at Chakbeli Morr around 4:30 PM.

The victim informed her husband about the incident, but he advised her to stay silent. She has now come forward with her mother to register the case.

One of the accused, Sultan, has been making threats via WhatsApp calls, warning that if anyone is informed, he will make the video viral on social media.

The complainant alleged that the assault was carried out on the instructions of the victim’s sister-in-law and mother-in-law.

A local jirga was held after the incident, where it was decided that the girl would receive medical treatment, but no treatment was arranged. The victim’s health is currently very poor.
