Former BLA commander Ali Tarpoor disabled in grenade accident

QUETTA: Mir Muhammad Ali Tarpoor, once a key commander of the banned terrorist organization Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), has been left permanently disabled after a grenade exploded in his hand during an attempt to attack innocent civilians.

Tarpoor, who is often portrayed as a role model and protector by members of the so-called Solidarity Committee, including activist Sami Deen, reportedly tried to throw a grenade at civilians in Balochistan.

Moreover, there are several eyewitnesses state that during a planned attack on innocent citizens in Balochistan, Tarpoor’s grenade exploded unexpectedly.

In such a scenario, Tarpoor’s role in orchestrating attacks and promoting unrest in the region had made him a central figure in militant activities.

Despite his controversial past, some members of advocacy groups like the Solidarity Committee continue to praise him as a hero and an inspirational figure. In addition, prominent activist Sami Deen, in particular, has often shown public support for Tarpoor, ignoring the evidence of his militant background.

However, Photographic documentation and internal communications from the BLA provide clear proof of Tarpoor’s leadership role within the group.

In such a case, after the explosion that ended his militant career, Tarpoor has kept a relatively low profile.
