QUETTA: The National Emergencies Operation Center of NDMA has issued a flood alert for Balochistan due to expected heavy rainfall.
According to the forecast, southern and eastern districts of the province are likely to experience downpours over the next 24 hours.
Areas expected to receive significant rainfall include Lasbela, Hub, Khuzdar, Awaran, Barkhan, Sui, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Kohlu, Kalat, and Zhob.
Showers are also predicted in Kech, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Surab, and southern Washuk.
Authorities have warned of possible flash floods in streams and seasonal rivers, particularly in Wadh, Khuzdar, Bela, Ormara, and the Hingol Valley.
The heavy rains may damage mud houses, farmlands, and connecting roads.
Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from weak structures and trees, and park vehicles in safe locations.
People are also urged not to cross waterlogged roads and underpasses and to remain cautious in areas at risk of flooding.

Heavy rains as well as water released in rivers by India has hit many cities of Punjab and Sindh.
More that one hundred people have lost their lives only in Punjab whereas some thousands of cattle have been drowned.
Thousands of low-lying rural areas have been severely hit by the flood and the rescue teams are helping people to move to safer places through boats and helicopters.
