Flash floods wreak havoc in Chaman, Balochistan

CHAMAN: Flash floods triggered by heavy rains have caused widespread destruction in several areas of Killa Abdullah district, including Gulistan and Jungal Pir Alizai in Balochistan.

According to district administration, a truck loaded with food supplies was swept away by floodwaters in the Habibzai area of Gulistan tehsil.

A passenger van carrying 15 people also got swept away in the flood.

Rescue operations have been launched to locate the missing passengers.

The administration reported that a high-level flood is flowing in the Killa Abdullah river, disrupting traffic on the Quetta-Chaman highway.

Passenger vehicles have also been stranded in various seasonal nullahs in Pishin and Toba Achakzai areas.
