QUETTA: Security forces on Thursday foiled a major terror plot and killed six terrorists associated with the Fitna al Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Dasht, Kech district.
According to security sources, armed operatives of the banned outfit Fitna-e-Hindustan were preparing a large-scale attack on the M-8 highway when forces launched a timely raid, killing six terrorists of the Indian proxy and foiling what officials described as a major terrorist plot.
A high-profile commander identified as Ateeq Miran, was among them. He was wanted for multiple acts of terrorism, targeted killings, kidnappings, and extortion across Balochistan.
Miran had been implicated in the March 2025 assault on the Saharan Koh post, numerous IED attacks and fire raids in Tump, Zamuran, Mand, Buleda, Dasht, Turbat, and Kolwah, as well as the targeted killing of two men, Masti Khan and Maseeb, in Turbat’s Singhani Sar area earlier this month. He also orchestrated attacks on security posts at Kodan Dasht in 2024 and at Subdan, according to officials.
Authorities further accused Miran of masterminding the abduction of the Assistant Commissioner of Tump, who was released only after the commander’s elimination. He was also directly linked to the IED blast that killed Captain Waqar Kakar, and had played a leading role in bank robberies, extortion of local contractors, and the torching of vehicles and construction machinery in Kech.
Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives, and ammunition during the operation.
