Gwadar: The suspension of Iranian fuel supplies has severely impacted the fishing industry in Gwadar.
According to a private news channel report, the disruption in petrol imports from Iran has negatively affected several sectors, but the fishing community has suffered the most.
With millions relying on fishing for their livelihood, the halt in fuel availability has brought their work to a complete standstill, plunging them into severe financial hardship.
Fishermen report that they are unable to provide for their families, with many facing hunger and extreme poverty. They stated, “Our stoves are cold, and we are living in near-famine conditions.” They urged that if stopping Iranian fuel is unavoidable, the government must at least provide an alternative solution rather than leaving millions jobless and hungry.
