PANJGUR : Security forces dealt a significant blow to militant networks in the district on Thursday, as the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan conducted a successful Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the remote Gwargo and Jiwser area of Panjgur.
The operation was launched following actionable intelligence regarding the presence of suspected militant activity in the region. Troops moved swiftly to cordon off the targeted locations, initiating a fierce engagement with the insurgents.
According to an official statement from the security establishment, the operation resulted in the elimination of two militants, while several others sustained injuries during the exchange of fire. The injured militants were reportedly taken into custody for further interrogation.
In addition to the casualties inflicted on the militant element, security forces successfully dismantled multiple terrorist hideouts operating in the area. A substantial cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the premises, including a large quantity of explosives, sophisticated communication equipment, and several motorcycles believed to have been used for militant transportation and attacks.
“The IBO was executed with precision, and no casualties were reported on the side of security forces,” the statement added.
Authorities have intensified search operations in the surrounding regions to track down any fleeing accomplices. The successful operation is seen as a major step in disrupting militant logistics and command structures in Balochistan’s rugged terrain.
