QUETTA: A low-intensity earthquake measuring 0.4 on the Richter scale was felt in Quetta and surrounding areas on Saturday, causing brief panic among residents but no loss of life or property, officials confirmed.
According to the seismic monitoring authorities, the tremor occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers, with its epicenter located 37 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital. The weak magnitude and relatively shallow depth limited the impact to mild tremors that were felt briefly in parts of the city.
Emergency response departments confirmed that no reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far. Authorities have advised citizens to remain calm and stay cautious while assuring that the situation is being closely monitored.
