Dhaka Test: ICC Cuts Pakistan WTC Points for Slow Over Rate Against Bangladesh

DHAKA: Pakistan national cricket team have been fined by the International Cricket Council for maintaining a slow over rate during the first Test against Bangladesh national cricket team.

The ICC said Pakistan failed to complete their overs within the allotted time and fell eight overs short of the required target.

As a result, Pakistan were penalized eight points in the ICC World Test Championship standings.

Under ICC regulations, teams lose one championship point for every over short of the target.

The disciplinary action followed Pakistan’s slow over rate during the first Test played in Dhaka.

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the match to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

The second and final Test between the two sides will begin in Sylhet on Friday.

Media reports said Pakistan were likely to make two changes to their playing XI for the final Test.
