CTD Operation in Quetta suburbs leaves 9 terrorists killed, 4 personnel Martyred

QUETTA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) engaged suspected militants in the areas of Nohsar and Panjpai, resulting in the killing of nine alleged terrorists, according to officials.

The operation was launched on intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants referred to by officials as “Fitna al Hindustan.” In this regard, the security forces moved into the targeted areas and initiated a coordinated action aimed at neutralizing the threat.

During the encounter, intense exchange of fire took place between the CTD personnel and the suspects.

In this regard, the Assistant to the Interior Department of the Government of Balochistan, the militants offered armed resistance, leading to a prolonged firefight.

He confirmed that four CTD personnel were martyred during the operation, while six others sustained injuries of varying severity. The injured personnel were immediately shifted to nearby medical facilities, where they are receiving treatment under close supervision.

In this sense, the government emphasized that such actions against elements referred to as “Fitna al Khawarij” and other militant groups will continue without interruption.

Babar Yousafzai, while commenting on the incident, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of CTD personnel. He extended condolences to the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their service and sacrifice.

He stated that the fallen personnel are a source of pride for the nation and that their sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Meanwhile, he further reasserted that no individual or group would be allowed to disturb the peace of Balochistan. The provincial government, he added, remains committed to maintaining law and order and will continue to take decisive action against any elements threatening public safety.

The CTD and other law enforcement agencies continue to play a key role in counterterrorism efforts across the province, as officials reaffirm their resolve to restore long-term peace and stability in the region.
