CM Bugti Condemns Killing of Six Workers, Vows Action Against Militants

QUETTA :  Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has sought an immediate report from the Mines and Minerals Department regarding the deadly coal mine accident in the Soranj area, while ordering a transparent inquiry to determine the causes and fix responsibility for the tragic incident.

 

In his directives, the Chief Minister made it clear that if negligence or oversight is proven at any level, strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible. He emphasized that there would be no leniency for any officials or parties whose failure to uphold safety standards may have contributed to the disaster.

 

CM Bugti also issued a firm directive to the Mines and Minerals Department to ensure the strict implementation of all safety regulations and standard operating procedures across every coal mine operating in the province. He stressed that the protection of miners’ lives must be the top priority, and any deviation from prescribed safety measures would be treated as a serious offense.

 

The Chief Minister’s response underscores the provincial government’s commitment to accountability and workplace safety in the mining sector, as rescue and recovery operations at the Soranj accident site continue. Further details regarding the cause of the collapse and the total number of casualties are expected following the submission of the formal report.
