Quetta – Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has said that corruption is the province’s most pressing challenge, and without rooting it out, the goals of good governance and sustainable development cannot be achieved.
He expressed these views while addressing trainee officers during his visit to the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) Quetta.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a hostel and an auditorium dedicated to the martyrs, noting that the initiative would not only pay tribute to their sacrifices but also strengthen the training infrastructure for officers.
He urged the trainee officers to devote their skills and energies to serving the people, stressing that genuine performance means serving the ordinary citizen who suffers in harsh weather conditions and faces daily hardships.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that officers must make a firm commitment to eradicating corruption and resolving public grievances.
He stated that corruption is an even bigger threat than terrorism, and without addressing it, national stability will remain elusive.
Referring to Article 5 of the Constitution, he underscored the need for unconditional loyalty to the state.
He also pointed out the difference between the ground realities of Balochistan and the perceptions created from outside, noting that while uneven development contributes to extremism, it is not the root cause of terrorism.
The Chief Minister further said that the war against terrorism is a joint national struggle that extends beyond the army and must be fought collectively.
He added that the issue of missing persons is being exploited as propaganda by anti-state elements.
Reaffirming his stance, he declared that the state comes first and pledged to resist all conspiracies.
