CHAMAN: A crucial meeting of the District Coordination Committee (DCC), chaired by Deputy Commissioner Habib Ahmed Bangulzai, was held here on Thursday, bringing together top civil and military officials to strategize on law and order, border security, and narcotics control in the sensitive border district.
The high-level huddle saw participation from a wide array of stakeholders, including the Headquarters Chaman Scouts, Commanding Officers of 40 Frontier Force, ISI, CT, and MI units, SP Chaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, and senior officers from intelligence, anti-narcotics, and special branch departments.
The forum conducted a comprehensive review of the district’s security landscape. Key agenda items included analyzing the overall law and order situation, enhancing border security protocols, preventing crime, improving intelligence sharing, and ensuring public safety. Special emphasis was placed on boosting mutual coordination for administrative efficiency and conducting joint, surprise search operations on border and connecting roads to curb smuggling.
A significant part of the discussion focused on the prevention of cannabis and opium cultivation and the interception of narcotics trafficking. The meeting addressed the multifaceted security and administrative challenges unique to the frontier district.
In his address, DC Habib Ahmed Bangulzai underscored the critical need for seamless coordination between all civil and military institutions in a sensitive region like Chaman. He stressed working under a unified strategy to protect public lives and property, establish lasting peace, and strengthen the state’s writ. He directed all departments to implement committee decisions promptly and enhance cooperation to resolve public issues effectively.
