Investigation Demanded Over BISP Fraud in Jhal Magsi

QUETTA: In Gandawah, the district headquarters of Jhal Magsi, deserving women enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have reportedly been defrauded.

Reports indicate that these women were charged 300 rupees per SIM card, but the SIMs provided were unregistered and remained inactive, preventing the women from accessing their financial assistance installments.

The affected women claim that local individuals involved in the process are now demanding additional payments to provide them with registered SIMs.

They allege that these individuals previously took their fingerprints to issue the faulty, unregistered SIMs, causing them to lose out on their entitled funds.

The victims have described these repeated demands for money as incomprehensible and highly concerning.

Consequently, the affected women have appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Chairperson of the BISP, and the district administration of Jhal Magsi to conduct a transparent investigation into the matter.

They have further demanded that if the allegations are proven true, strict legal action should be taken against those responsible.
