QUETTA: Balochistan Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani announced on Wednesday that the province will receive Rs. 771 billion under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27.
Presenting the provincial budget in the Balochistan Assembly, the minister attributed the substantial allocation to improved revenue collections by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which have directly benefited the province’s fiscal position. He emphasized that the NFC transfers would be instrumental in strengthening provincial finances and accelerating development projects across the region.
Nosherwani noted that following the 18th Constitutional Amendment, the provincial government has prioritized building a sustainable revenue system. Reforms introduced through the Finance Bill have modernized tax laws, broadened the income base, and enhanced administrative efficiency. He further stated that transformative measures are being undertaken to stimulate business activity and generate employment opportunities for the province’s youth.
In a significant move toward fiscal transparency, the minister announced the impending implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) system. This reform will consolidate funds from all government and autonomous institutions into a single centralized account. According to Nosherwani, the TSA will bolster transparency, streamline financial management, and reinforce accountability in the utilization of public resources.
The budget presentation signals the provincial government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and sustainable development amid Balochistan’s unique economic challenges
