Balochistan Home Department Eases Lockdown Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

QUETTA: The Home Department of the Balochistan’s government has announced relaxation in the ongoing lockdown measures in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, according to an official notification issued in Quetta.

The notification confirms that the easing of restrictions will remain effective until June 1. During this period, all commercial activities across the province will be allowed to continue under the revised guidelines.

In this regard, as per the Home Department, shops, business centers, shopping malls, and markets throughout Balochistan will remain open, enabling citizens to carry out their Eid-related and routine shopping activities without major restrictions.

The decision has been taken to facilitate the public during the festive season and to support economic activity in the province.

The relaxation has been granted in line with the broader national approach regarding the energy conservation policy introduced by the federal government, which had earlier included measures related to market timings and partial restrictions in various parts of the country.

The provincial authorities emphasized that while restrictions have been eased, citizens and business owners are expected to follow all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines as issued by the government from time to time.

The Home Department further clarified that the decision aims to strike a balance between public convenience during Eid preparations and the need for regulated economic activity. It added that the situation will continue to be monitored, and any further decisions will be made based on emerging conditions.

Citizens across Balochistan have welcomed the announcement, particularly traders and shopkeepers who expect increased business activity ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most significant religious festivals in the country.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with local administration and maintain discipline in markets to ensure smooth implementation of the revised policy during the relaxation period.

The notification marks a temporary shift in restrictions, with the government reiterating its commitment to public facilitation while maintaining overall administrative control and order across the province.
