QUETTA: The provincial government of Balochistan has released a financial grant of Rs. 4.2 billion for 11 public sector universities in the province to support their academic and administrative operations.
The Higher Education Department announced that the funds have been allocated under the Annual Development Program (ADP) for the fiscal year 2025–26.
In this regard, the grant will be utilized to meet essential expenses of universities, including salaries, utilities, and operational costs.
In this sense, the Finance Department has confirmed that Rs. 4.25 billion, out of the total allocation, has already been disbursed among the universities. The University of Balochistan, Quetta, received the largest share, amounting to Rs. 1.491 billion.
Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University was allocated Rs. 799 million, while Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar, was granted Rs. 487.5 million.
Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences: Rs. 210 million
University of Loralai: Rs. 262 million
University of Turbat: Rs. 283 million
Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS): Rs. 994 million
Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, Sibi: Rs. 44 million
University of Makran, Panjgur: Rs. 147.8 million
Bolan Medical University of Health Sciences: Rs. 80.8 million
Loralai Medical College: Rs. 83.3 million

The provincial government focused on the fact that education remains a top priority, and the provision of this grant indicates its commitment to strengthening higher education in Balochistan.
