Balochistan government tightens security for transport

Following the recent terrorist attack targeting passenger buses, the Balochistan government has decided to strengthen security measures for public transport.

According to media reports, the decision came after the tragic killing of members of the renowned Karachi-based Qawwal group led by Majid Ali Sabri and other musicians in Kalat.

In response, authorities have instructed deputy commissioners to implement enhanced security protocols.

Transport owners of passenger coaches, buses, and vans have been directed to deploy two security guards on each vehicle.

Additionally, the installation of GPS trackers, alarm systems, and CCTV cameras in all public transport vehicles has been made mandatory.

Deputy commissioners have ordered transporters to ensure these safety measures are fully implemented by July 20.

It is worth mentioning that so far, numerous attacks have been launched by the militants on the passenger’s buses.

In February, a passenger’s bus was targeted by the militants and they killed seven passengers travelling to Punjab.

On 10th of July, another attack was launched by the militants on a bus travelling to Lahore from Quetta.

Some nine passengers were martyred in that attack as well.
