QUETTA : Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti declared on Monday that Balochistan is soaring toward a bright future, and that enemy forces are increasingly worried about the province’s progress and stability.
Addressing a session of the Balochistan Assembly, Bugti asserted that certain external elements are actively supporting terrorist organizations operating in the region. He warned that once this foreign patronage ends, these groups will quickly become “a part of the past.”
“For the first time, the current government has decided to fight the war against terrorism as its own war,” Bugti told the assembly. He emphasized that this shift in approach has deeply disheartened the enemy, as the state is now fully committed to eliminating terror threats with unwavering resolve.
The Chief Minister did not name specific countries or groups but reiterated that Balochistan’s development and security are non-negotiable. He called on all provincial lawmakers to unite behind the government’s efforts to restore lasting peace and accelerate socio-economic progress across the region.
Bugti’s remarks come amid heightened security operations in parts of Balochistan, where separatist and militant groups have frequently targeted state installations and civilians. The provincial government has vowed to intensify counter-terrorism measures while pursuing dialogue with disenfranchised communities.
