QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Saturday praised Pakistan’s security forces for killing seven suspected militants, including an alleged suicide bomber, during an intelligence-based operation in Nushki, describing the raid as a reflection of the forces’ professionalism and the country’s resolve against militancy.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the operation demonstrated the security forces’ operational capability and national commitment to defeating terrorism.
He said every attempt to destabilize Balochistan through what he described as India-backed terrorism would be thwarted.
Rind paid tribute to the security forces, saying their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism were a source of pride for the nation.
He said counterterrorism operations under Pakistan’s Azm-e-Istehkam campaign would continue with full force until militancy was eradicated.
Rind added that the Balochistan government stood shoulder to shoulder with the country’s security forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.
He said authorities would continue taking all necessary measures to maintain peace, ensure stability and protect the lives and property of the people of Balochistan.
Earlier on Saturday, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said security forces killed seven suspected militants, including an alleged suicide bomber, during an intelligence-based operation in Nushki district.
According to the ISPR, troops destroyed a militant hideout and recovered weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices during the raid. The military said a clearance operation was continuing in the area and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy.
