QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed his government’s commitment to promoting economic growth through strategic partnerships with both public and private sector institutions.
Chairing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Bugti reviewed progress on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and the development of the Sui Master Plan.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, PPL Managing Director Sikandar Ali Memon, the Provincial Secretary for Energy, and senior officials from relevant departments and Sui gas field projects.
PPL’s managing director briefed the participants on the MoU’s implementation and the milestones achieved under the Sui Master Plan.
Bugti said Balochistan’s natural resources are a public trust, and the benefits must directly reach local communities, particularly those in Sui. He emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure maximum local participation in employment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure initiatives.
Describing the Sui Master Plan as a cornerstone of regional development, the Chief Minister said it provides a comprehensive strategy to strengthen infrastructure, social services, and energy initiatives in the region. He added that the plan aims to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth tailored to local needs.
Bugti directed all relevant departments to meet the MoU’s targets within the set timeframe and to ensure that public interest remains central at every stage of implementation.
Reiterating his government’s broader vision, he stressed the importance of collaboration with private and public entities to stimulate economic activity. He called for transparent resource distribution, vocational training, and job creation for local youth.
