RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army said on Saturday that security forces foiled a major terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan late on the night of October 10–11, after militants affiliated with the Indian proxy network Fitna al-Khwarij attempted to breach the facility’s perimeter.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the school’s main gate in an effort to gain entry. Law enforcement personnel on duty responded swiftly, engaging the assailants and preventing further damage.
Police forces displayed exceptional courage and professionalism, eliminating three terrorists on the spot. Two more were later neutralized in a precision clearance operation conducted by security forces within the building complex.
Six policemen, including trainees, were martyred during the intense exchange of fire. Twelve others, along with one civilian, sustained injuries. The ISPR added that the attackers also targeted a mosque inside the school compound, desecrating the sacred site and brutally killing the Imam Masjid, an unarmed civilian serving in the school.
Security forces have launched a sanitization operation in the surrounding area to trace any remaining threats. The ISPR emphasized that those responsible for this “heinous and cowardly act” will be brought to justice.
