Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar has claimed that the purpose of bringing back Sohail Afridi is to provide support and facilitation to militancy in pakistan.
He made these remarks during a press conference alongside PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leader Ikhtiar Wali Khan.
Tarar stated that the biggest facilitator of terrorists is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, adding that terrorists were settled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during that period.
He said that a handful of terrorists continue to receive backing from an individual behind bars, and accused PTI of seeking only to tarnish the country’s image.
According to him, the return of Sohail Afridi is aimed solely at offering full support to these terrorists.
The minister further said that during the tenure of the jailed political figure, the National Action Plan was completely disregarded.
He suggested that perhaps Ali Amin Gandapur was removed because he failed to adequately facilitate terrorist elements.
Tarar also criticized the removal of a provincial chief minister over two women, calling it the worst example of hereditary politics.
Concluding his remarks, he stated that PTI’s false narrative has been buried following the recent London court verdict, and made it clear that Pakistan’s security policy will not be dictated from Kabul — it will be formulated in Islamabad alone.
It is worth mentioning that Ali Amin Gandapur had resigned from his position as CM KP yesterday. Sohail Afridi of Fata district is nominated as the new CM KP.
The decision was taken from the founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Imran Khan.
Secretary General Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Salman Akram Raja had confirmed that the decision was taken during his meeting with Imran Khan in the jail.
Salman Akram had said that the policy and the decision making is tackled by the founder chairman himself and we only follow his orders.
