RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s tri-services leadership, led by Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on Wednesday reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the COAS, alongside Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, reiterated the Armed Forces’ steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle to secure their inalienable right to self-determination—guaranteed under international law and relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
The military leadership voiced serious concern over the continued illegal occupation of IIOJK, pointing to the Indian security forces’ military siege, rampant human rights violations, and persistent attempts to alter the territory’s demographic composition. The statement warned that such actions, coupled with provocative rhetoric and belligerent posturing, only serve to exacerbate regional instability and perpetuate human suffering.
The top brass underscored that lasting peace and stability in South Asia are intrinsically linked to the just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and UNSC resolutions. The people and Armed Forces of Pakistan paid solemn tribute to the martyrs of IIOJK and reiterated their enduring commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Kashmiri people in their just and rightful struggle for freedom.
