QUETTA: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have seized 375 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and arrested a suspect during an operation on the M-8 highway in Balochistan, officials said.
The operation was conducted on Feb. 12 after a tip-off received by security agencies. A suspicious Mazda vehicle traveling from Panjgur to Turbat was intercepted and searched.
During a detailed inspection, authorities recovered 375 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice,” with an estimated street value of approximately 187.5 million rupees.
The arrested individual, along with the confiscated narcotics, has been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Officials said the seizure marks a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
Yesterday, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had seized 1.2 tons of high-quality hashish and arrested two suspects in a major operation against an international drug-smuggling network.
ANF spokesperson said the raid was based on intelligence inputs.
Authorities had received information that an international group, led by smuggler Ishaq Baloch, was transporting large quantities of drugs from Panjgur to Turbat. The drugs were to be moved via coastal routes and smuggled overseas.
ANF stopped a suspicious truck on the Panjgur–Turbat National Highway (M-8) and conducted a search. Hidden compartments in the vehicle contained 1,200 kilograms (1.2 tons) of hashish. Two suspects were arrested on the spot.
