QUETTA: Two people were injured after unidentified armed men opened fire on an ambulance carrying a body in the Darg tehsil of Balochistan’s Musakhel district.
The ambulance was transporting a deceased person when unknown attackers intercepted the vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, two individuals travelling in the ambulance sustained gunshot injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
However, officials have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage or whether the incident was specifically intended to target the ambulance or its occupants.
The sudden attack created panic in the area, prompting local residents to gather at the scene while law enforcement agencies rushed to secure the location.
In this regard. the authorities later cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation to collect evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The officials have stressed that the motive behind the attack has not yet been confirmed, and investigators are examining all possible angles before reaching any conclusions.
The incident has once again raised concerns over security and public safety in parts of Balochistan, where sporadic incidents of violence and tribal or personal disputes have occasionally resulted in armed confrontations.
Meanwhile, the officials have urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies during the investigation. They emphasized that conclusions regarding the motive should not be drawn until the inquiry is completed and verified by the relevant authorities.
