KURRAM: Afghan Taliban fighters and militants belonging to the India-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij group once again resorted to unprovoked firing on Pakistani border positions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting a strong and precise response from the Pakistan Army.
According to security sources, Pakistani forces retaliated effectively and successfully repulsed the attack, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers. The exchange of fire caused significant damage to Taliban border posts, several of which caught fire after being hit by retaliatory shelling.
Sources further confirmed that one Taliban tank was completely destroyed during the engagement.
The Pakistan Army’s robust and timely response reportedly silenced enemy positions, preventing further aggression from across the border. Security officials stated that Pakistan remains fully prepared to respond to any act of provocation that threatens its territorial integrity.
It is pertinent to mention that this marks the second attack launched by the Afghan Taliban and India-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij group on Pakistan’s border positions within a week.
