KARACHI: The Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited forward posts in the Creeks Area to review the operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy units deployed in the region.
During the visit, three state-of-the-art 2400 TD Hovercraft were formally inducted into the Pakistan Marines, indicating a major milestone in the Navy’s ongoing modernization efforts.
Furthermore, the newly inducted hovercraft possess the capability to operate seamlessly across diverse terrains including shallow waters, sand dunes, and marshy littoral zones where conventional vessels are unable to function effectively.
This versatility enables the Pak Marines to conduct swift and flexible operations across both land and sea, significantly enhancing their operational reach and efficiency.
Admiral Ashraf underlined the importance of continuous modernization and technological advancement to ensure maritime security and national defence.
The Naval Chief further focused on the critical importance of Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) and maritime security, describing them as essential not only for defence but also for the country’s economic prosperity and regional stability.
The recent operation was carried out by PNS Yarmook while deployed under the Saudi-led Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150), a vital component of the multinational Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).
In addition, the naval crew stood as a symbol of resilience and commitment, working shoulder to shoulder with international partners to uphold peace, security, and stability across the world’s critical maritime corridors a proud moment reflecting Pakistan Navy’s unwavering resolve to protect global waters and contribute to a safer, more secure world.
“The Pakistan Navy remains the vanguard of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region and a key contributor to maritime security,” he stated.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to defending its maritime sovereignty, Admiral Ashraf declared, “We know how to defend our sovereignty and every inch of our maritime frontiers from Sir Creek to Jiwani.”
He assured that the Pakistan Navy’s defence posture remains robust and its personnel steadfast in their resolve. “Our capabilities are as strong as our morale from the shores to the sea,” the Naval Chief concluded.
The visit and induction ceremony underline Pakistan Navy’s sustained efforts to strengthen its coastal and maritime security architecture amid evolving regional challenges.
