TURBAT: Two terrorists were killed when militants affiliated with the designated terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) camp in the Absar area of Turbat early this morning.
As per reports, Indian-sponsored BLA terrorists made a nefarious attempt to target the Frontier Corps (FC) South Headquarters in Turbat. Four armed attackers fired a total of five hand grenades (UBGLs) in succession at the headquarters, out of which four landed within the premises.
Of the grenades that landed, one struck the officers’ residence (Officers’ Mess), two landed near the MOQ flats, and one fell close to Makran Lodges. As a result of the blasts, two FC personnel sustained minor injuries; however, there were no fatalities.
Immediately following the attack, the Frontier Corps’ Quick Reaction Force (QRF) arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and engaged the fleeing attackers. Two terrorists were killed on the spot, while the remaining two managed to escape and are currently being pursued.
According to security sources, this attack was yet another cowardly attempt by hostile elements, which was bravely and professionally thwarted by the security forces. The FC South Headquarters remains completely secure, and security in the area has been further tightened.
Security forces have cordoned off the area, and a search and clearance operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats.
